At HarvellTech, we rigorously test every custom-built PC before shipment to ensure it meets our high-quality standards. Our pre-shipment testing process is designed to verify that your system’s components function properly and can withstand typical usage conditions.
1. Testing Procedures
We perform the following tests on all systems:
- CPU Stress Test
We run the processor through extended stress tests to verify its performance and stability under heavy loads, ensuring it can handle high-demand tasks without overheating or throttling.
- GPU Stress Test
The graphics card is tested for sustained performance under extreme workloads, such as gaming or rendering. We monitor temperatures and performance consistency to prevent issues like crashes or overheating.
- RAM Diagnostic Test
Memory modules undergo diagnostic testing to check for errors or corruption, ensuring proper operation across all slots and capacities.
- Storage Read/Write Test
Both SSDs and HDDs are tested for read/write speeds and overall health to ensure they meet performance benchmarks and do not contain bad sectors.
- Motherboard Boot and Ports Test
We test the motherboard to ensure proper booting and functionality across all ports (USB, Ethernet, audio, etc.), guaranteeing that all connected components work seamlessly.
- PSU Voltage Stability Test
The power supply unit is tested to confirm stable voltage delivery without fluctuations, ensuring the reliable operation of all system components.
- Cooling System Test
We monitor fan speeds and system temperatures under load to ensure the cooling system is regulating heat effectively, preventing overheating.
- Operating System Boot Test
After installing the operating system, we perform boot tests to confirm that the OS starts properly and runs without errors or compatibility issues.
- Case and Physical Inspection
We conduct a thorough visual inspection of the system's case and internal components to ensure everything is securely installed and free of physical damage.
2. Testing Limitations
While our pre-shipment tests simulate a range of operational conditions, they are designed to verify the system's performance in standard usage environments. The tests do not cover:
- Extreme environmental conditions (e.g., exposure to dust, moisture, or extreme temperatures).
- Usage scenarios outside normal operation.
- Long-term wear or damage post-shipment.
Note: Customers are encouraged to follow proper maintenance guidelines to ensure the longevity of their system.
3. Customer Responsibilities Upon Receipt
Upon receiving your system, we recommend the following steps:
- Inspect the packaging to ensure it is intact. Report any damage immediately.
- Set up the system following the included instructions in a well-ventilated environment with stable power.
- Monitor initial performance to ensure everything is functioning as expected. If any issues arise during setup, contact HarvellTech Support.
4. Testing Validity
Our pre-shipment tests are conducted within 24-48 hours prior to shipment. The test results provided in the Pre-Shipment Test Certificate reflect the system's condition at the time of testing. Any issues arising after receipt should be addressed through our warranty and support channels.
5. Software and Drivers Disclaimer
While our testing focuses on hardware functionality and operating system compatibility, the performance of the system may be affected by changes made after shipment, such as:
- Installing or updating software.
- Installing third-party drivers.
- Modifying hardware or software settings.
We recommend consulting with HarvellTech Support before making significant changes to your system to avoid potential conflicts that could affect performance.
6. Test Documentation
Each system is shipped with a Pre-Shipment Test Certificate documenting the tests performed and the results for each component. If you require a detailed copy of your system’s test results or have misplaced your certificate, please contact HarvellTech Support with your order number, and we will provide the necessary documentation.
